Loch Gallery Winnipeg is pleased to present a selection of Clarence Tillenius’s paintings, alongside sculptures by his friend Leo Mol, available online and by appointment at the gallery.
In the early years of Clarence Tillenius’s career, he and fellow artists—including Leo Mol—met for weekly life drawing sessions. Mol, a Ukrainian-born Canadian artist, was widely known for his bronze sculptures, particularly those depicting the human figure. Over time, his bond with Tillenius grew, driven by their shared interest in the natural world, with Tillenius capturing animals in his paintings and Mol in his sculptures. The two respected each other's work and formed a lasting friendship, exchanging ideas about art and nature.
