Loch Gallery is delighted to present a two part exhibition "Lily Ponds, Flowers and Flakes" by Philip Craig featuring new paintings inspired by his wife's garden and the years he lived in Newfoundland.
Over the summer months, Philip was captivated by the colours and variety of flora from his wife Diane's garden. In the first room of the gallery Philip guides us through the lush garden filled with peonies, trilliums, gardenias, irises, and water lilies from his Otter Lake home.
In the second room of the gallery we are featuring a collection of paintings inspired by the years Philip and his family lived in Newfoundland. Through paintings of multicoloured homes in Trinity, fisherman pulling in the boats and the wooden "flakes" used for drying fish, Philip gives us a glimpse into some of the places he visited and sights he saw during his time in Newfoundland.
