Loch Gallery is excited to present a recent selection of paintings by Ontario's own Shannon Craig Morphew.
In this recent collection, the artist takes the viewer on a journey across the country. Through Morphew's dynamic use of line she captures the energy of the Canadian landscape. We start in the east with a sweeping panorama of the Newfoundland coast. Morphew then guides us through Northern Ontario with its granite rock formations and windswept pines, before reaching the wide open, vast skies of the Canadian Prairies, and ending up finally in the majestic ranges of the Rockies.
Influenced by Japanese woodblock prints, Morphew's style of active brushwork and minimal colour expresses a very modern, personal creative vision.
