His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, announced on December 30, 2015 that Ivan Eyre is to be appointed a Member of the Order of Canada, for his contributions to Canadian art as a painter and sculptor.
The Order of Canada, established in 1967 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is one of our country’s highest civilian honours, and the cornerstone of the Canadian Honours System, it was created to recognize outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation.
Our congratulations to Ivan Eyre for this greatly deserved honour.
