In June 2007 sculptor Peter Sawatzky unveiled the first edition of his monumental sculpture Seal River Crossing.
This work situated at Portage Avenue and Main Street in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba, is a 29 foot long heroic bronze of 11 caribou crossing a turbulent river.
This major sculpture was commissioned by James Richardson & Sons Limited in commemoration of their 150th anniversary.
Now almost a year later only 1 of the 5 bronzes remains available for purchase.
